I am so stinking antsy and uncomfortable this past week. I feel like I'm in a bothersome piece of clothing I can't take off! Its hard to explain. The best way to describe it is like wearing a pair of jeans that has a weird texture and you can't take them off for whatever reason, so you have to just deal with it.
I'm also feeling VERY agitated and unprepared. I was told to wait until after our shower to buy baby items because "you just might get it" and now I feel like we have nothing ready for the baby. I really didn't want to because I didn't want December to come and be scrambling to get items I could've already bought. We have no where near enough clothes, no bath items, no monitor (good thing this can wait), no diaper bag - a friend was suppose to make one and it's not going to be ready until the end of Dec, no wipes and definitely don't have enough diapers.
I ordered a diaper bag (which I'm super excited about) and have spent the past week scavenging sale racks for newborn clothes. I have enough to last for the time being should he arrive before January.
Ha, I'm an over-preparer so this is killing me!
On a positive note I have the most important items already - bassinet, bouncer/swing (Mamaroo!!), stroller and car seat.

You're still fine!! Like you said, you've got the "big" items and enough to get you started... You only need a couple "newborn" outfits, but you'll primarily need sleep & play type outfits that come in 3-packs for most of the time..
Skip the monitor, not worth the money spent - ours is still in the packaging from 7 years ago when we had DD... You won't really need "bath items" until your LO is a little older because you'll likely be doing sponge baths to start with a wash cloth and they won't really use tub toys until they're into sitting in the actual tub..
As for not having any diapers/wipes, you should wait to purchase them until your LO is here. DD had crazy-reactions to different brands of diapers/wipes and it sucked to think about the money we spent on a few packs of various brands that we just couldn't use because it gave her what looked like chemical burns (had nieces/nephews who also had the same thing happen)...
As for the diaper bag, I'm with you on trying to find one there - I just need a small diaper bag, not a suitcase size bag!!! But really, you can go anywhere for that, Walmart, Target, Baby Depot, BRU, or just get a purse with an extra compartment that your basics will fit into!
Remember that the hospital will be giving you a few things to get you started such as what is left in the pack of diapers/wipes in the baby bag (yes, you will have plenty to get you through a couple days), many also give you a small diaper bag too with Similac samples..
