Looking for suggestions re: where to print Christmas Cards!

Just had 2 bad experiences with Vista Print who I have used several times in the past...the quality/color of the cards was horrible....made my professional photographs look terrible....all washed out/bleached looking....any suggestions?  I'm kind of afraid to do it on line now & I'm cutting it close for time, but don't want to go to CVS, Costco, etc....looking for a reasonable place though.  I have the jpeg of the card.

Re: Looking for suggestions re: where to print Christmas Cards!

  • I've used Winkflash for the last several years (and birthdays along the way as well) with great results.  I think the ship time at Wink is 4-7 business days, right now, so I know that's pushing it.

This year I used Snapfish (addressing them now), and actually had them printed to a store. I'm impressed.  I used them solely because I could pick them up the next day. We have a birthday party this weekend and I wanted to get them out and done prior to that.

  • I love tinyprints. I've used them for 2 years with excellent results. I got cards or .69 each.
  • I looked at many sites this year for the card I wanted.  I finally had them printed through Wal-Mart (gasp!).  They had the best formatting options.
  • I should've mentioned that I had my cards designed by someone on Etsy...so I don't need the design....I just need to upload my design to a web site that offers that option.

  • I use mpix.com because I like to be able to have the printing on both sides.  If I just had a front side invite, I would look at using an Office Max type place - I was very impressed with them for the little cards that the Tooth Fairy left for DS1...

I also have used winkflash.com and was less than thrilled with the way they adjusted the coloring, but it wasn't bad for how cheap it was overall.

The other option - just order the 5x7s from Sams Club or something like that and buy envelopes on your own (though one year when I did that, the lady assumed it was for xmas cards and included envelopes so it was awesome).

  • I usually do prints from Kodakgallery.com and get some invites from there. For other invites I have a friend design them and print at a local print shop. The digital machines (higher end than copy machines) do a great job and I love having them done on a heavier card stock (dull or matte, not gloss).  Plus they usually show me a proof so we can adjust color as needed.
