DD has had a fever for a couple of days. This morning, after no meds for about 7 hours, her temp was 98.8 rectally. So, like any good mother, I gave her tylenol and took her to daycare. 4 hours later, they called and said she had a fever and was shaking trying to eat her lunch. I went and got her, took her to the pedi, and she has an ear infection. Mommy fail. Seriously, how awful am I? Because I feel pretty bad

Don't feel bad, Mamma. It took us four days to determine that L had an ear infection and get her to the pedi this week. We thought it was just a cold as she was so congested and snotty nose. This after her fever and everything too.
((hugs)) You're an awesome Mamma.

That sucks, but you're not a bad mom! Sometimes it's just hard to tell with them.
Now, taking your DD to daycare with an intestinal infection - that's bad. Guess who did that? Me. (I thought she had a brief bout of diarrhea from eating something weird. She ended up having the stinkiest runs ever for almost a week...)
You can borrow my MOTY award because I did the same thing. C didn't have a fever, but he had a runny nose and cough. I blew it off as just another daycare cold. Took him to the doctor 2 weeks later for his 12 month checkup, and yep, you guessed it, ear infection.

Don't feel bad. I hope she's feeling better today.
Don't feel bad, I think most people would have done the same thing. Babies need to come with giant neon signs that tell you what's wrong.
