Saltdough Handprints

I made saltdough ornaments yesterday with ds and this morning about half of them were broken or cracked down the middle.  I think it is because I took them out of the oven to make dinner and then put them back in to finish up. 

Has anyone made these and if so do you have any tips for my replacement batch?  Thanks.

    I think that taking them out and then putting them back in may have been your problem.  Did you put them back in when the oven was cool or hot?  I'm planning on making these with DD and got the recipe from pinterest, but haven't gotten around to doing it yet.  GL!

    I'm wondering if your oven was too hot when you put them back in. They just showed these on The Chew and said to keep the oven the lowest you could (around 200) for 4-6 hours. Good luck!
