with dd I lost my first plug at 32.5 weeks. It grew back. 

I lost the second plug at 38 weeks. I didn't get my bloody show until I was in active labor.

These are all just potential markers. It's not an exact science.

I thought bloody show and the MP are the same thing?

nope, but they can happen at or around the same time. 

The mucus plug looks like a big booger and comes dislodged once your cervix starts to ripen. Bloody show begins when your cervix starts to really dialate and the small blood vessels within begin to rupture. It's like a very light period, pink on the paper when you wipe but no real drippage (for me anyway).

For some women, the mucus and blood will mix, depending on how quickly you dilate. Not for me.

1 day.  I lost some on a  thursday morning, some again on friday morning and by friday night I was in labor.
