sleeping arrangements?

Especially for newborn breastfeeding twins.

I have a full size cosleeper to start in, but what would you recommend after that? I was planning on just moving them into a shared crib in their nursery, but my friend with twins said hers outgrew the cosleeper pretty early and she didn't want to move them, so she bought a mini crib.

Please share your opinions and experiences. Thanks!

  • For sleeping in your room? We are using the fisher price rock n play sleepers and they are great...kids seem to love them and they don't take up a ton of room, very portable.

  • We have a nanny living with us for 4 months but she sleeps in their room and they are both in the same full size crib.  I kind of think a mini crib would be best to put your room if you are considering them sleeping in there for any extended period of time.  Personally (when I had my singletons) we couldn't sleep in the same room bc I could hear every single noise they made and it kept me up all night....so they might not be in your room as long as you think they will...or they might...it really all depends.

  • Ours slept in a crib together by my bed. Once they mostly STTN at 2 months they were moved to the nursery.  I didn't want to buy a bunch of gear and we had plenty of room for a crib.  We had 2 cribs in our room at one point. We have a Joovy Room2 playpen for travel and play

  • Our twins slept in a PNP right next to my bed for the first month. After that, Tucker kept spinning sideways and kicked his brother in the head so we had to separate them much earlier than I had planned. So off to their nursery they went....to their own cribs.

  • I loved our rock-n-plays but one of my boys is having a hard time transitioning out! He loves to be all squished up.

  • We sidecarred a crib in our room using this LINK as inspiration.  We kept the crib like that for the first 6m or so.  Around 6m we put the crib fully together and kept it in our room.  Around 8m we put them in the nursery and put them in their own cribs.
