I'm now 31 weeks and EVERYONE keeps asking me how long I'm going to work! I just keep telling them until my doctor tells me not to. I'm sure it varies person to person, pregnancy to pregnancy, but how long do most people stay at work?
Until the last possible second. I only get 6 weeks off and I'm not trying to waste any of that time waiting...I'd rather use it when she's actually here.
Up until I got into labor. I'm not wasting any of my days off (plus the longer I stay @ school, the closer I get to my FML taking me into the summer-- Yipee!)
I'm working until March 2. DS2 is due March 10. I would have pushed for earlier, but DS1 was a week late, so I want to max out time out/financial benefits.
My plan is to work until 36 wks....but I'm 29 now and starting to hit a wall. Maternity leave isn't really an issue for me as I'm only using state disability/paid family leave, so I just need a doctor's signature and they would be willing to do that now (I'm high risk due to a heart defect in lo and am anemic). But I don't want to jump the gun and sit around going nuts either.
I worked a week after my due date with my first....the day before with my second and I plan on working right up until this one decides to make her appearance! I only get 6 weeks and want to make the most of the time I have.
I will work up until I go into labor barring any complications. I did this with DS and worked until 40 weeks 3 days when I was induced. I have an office job so I am going to start bringing my exercise ball to sit on all day like I did last time.
I went into labor at work 2 days before my due date. If you have no true medical complications (other than just being big and uncomfortable like every pregnant woman), you should be fine at work.
I got 3 months paid maternity leave, so I wasn't planning to waste it before she arrived.
I was planning to work until 39 weeks. But, turns out I had an eventful 38 wk check up yesterday with high bp and protein in my urine so my dr took me off a week earlier than scheduled. I have an office job and in no way is it super stressful but she didn't want me working anymore so I didn't have a choice in the matter.
Well I put in for my last day to be Sunday 12/18. My induction is 12/19 (39w1d) but my boss gave me the 16th, 17th, and 18th off. That's ok w/ me. Extra time to get everything done before the big day!

This time, I will be off 3 1/2 weeks in advance.
I get a year off, but if I was in the 6-12 week camp, I'd probably do just one week.
