I hope the Dr. went well and some solutions were suggested. I just wanted to say that if gas drops are suggested as a solution, in the last 12 hours I have become a firm believer in them. DD hadn't slept well during the day for as long as my short memory remembers and was often crying and uncomfortable. We bought the drops last night and, call it mommy placebo, but they worked almost immediately. She was happier last night when she was awake and stayed asleep better once she went to sleep. She is currently still in the longest daytime "nap" we've ever experienced. Yesterday she slept for like half an hour at a time, and she's now going on 2.5 hours. Seriously, not to rave like a lunatic, but I really think the drops have made her feel 1000 times better and I highly recommend them.
Things went okay on Monday. She hadn't gained any more weight over her birth weight so they had me bring her in this morning again. Her weight gain is now normal (7lbs 13oz). She also is not digesting the other formula well. They had her on Similac Sensitive for Fusiness and Gas for the last few days and she still was irregular. When she did poop it had a lot of mucus in it. And she wont let herself sleep. She slept for 3 hours yesterday. Other than that she was awake and crying.
This morning we changed her formula again. We are now trying Similac Expert Care Alimentum. It is the hypoallergenic one, not dairy or soy. Fingers crossed this works for her. I need it to work so I can keep my sanity!
Luckily DH is still home with me. We take turns at night going to sleep and keeping an ear out for DD. last night I got about 5-6 hours of sleep. It was broken up sleep but still. I thank God DH is here. I couldn't do this without him
DH was home with me for most of the first month and I agree that it is awesome to have dad there too!! At least your DH will keep an ear out for DD at night - mine slept like the dead

I am so sorry you are going though this and I hope the new formula works!
Also, I wanted to share something I wish I had known about when DD was little. The GBMC Doula and Postpartum Support Program offers some services including a night nurse service. Services start at $100 and the night nurse service is $200.

oh poor Mommy, poor baby. I'm sorry.
We used Enfamil Gentlease for DD, with a crapload of gas drops in it too!
At least you know its not you and you are on the path to find a solution.
Is anybody able to come over and help you for a few hours so you can get some sleep/get a break.
