I don't mean to be total downer, but this is one of the saddest things I've heard about in a long time. And I needed to share it.

I don't know they family, but they're friends of a friend here in NYC.
After trying for years to get pregnant, the couple conceived twins with IVF. And then the mother died from complications from the C-section delivery. Luckily, the babies are fine.
So tragic. I can't stop thinking about that poor woman, trying for so long, finally getting pregnant. Her dream was just about to come true. Why is the world so unfair? Women like this don't get to hold their children, while other people kill or abandon theirs. I just don't understand.
Re: So sad - warning - parent loss mentioned
That's so very sad. You go through IF as a couple, should always have chance to parent as a couple. T & P to the families that our experiencing this loss and the babies that will grow up without a mom
How awful. This makes me so sad. I can't even imagine what the poor husband must be going through.
Those babies are so perfect and adorable, and after all those years of IF (the site said it had taken 7 years) their mother probably never even got the chance to hold them.
I'm happy that at least the husband seems to be holding up and getting support from family and friends. He is even smiling in a couple of the pictures. But . . . again, I can't even imagine how he must be feeling right now.
As if we needed more evidence that life can be cruel and unfair. :-(
