Somehow my M-i-l came up with the name "Angelina Marcella" for our baby girl, who is due in March. We are not Italian & the name is totally not our style. It doesn't fit with our last name either. She has started referring the the baby as "Angel" to go with the name she picked.
Every phone call, she asks what we think of this name & even offered to spell it for us. DH just tells her we're still considering names.
I figure we'll wait until the baby is born & then tell her our choice for her name.
Re: M-i-l = baby name pusher
Yeah. We only see the in-laws 2-3x's a year. If they lived closer, we'd need to address this more directly. For now, it's just slightly irritating.
Ugh, those crazy ILs. I know what you are going through and even though it's silly, I understand why this bothers you because it bothered me.
As soon as my SIL found out I was pregnant, she bombarded me with names. She sent maybe 12 or 13 FB messages a DAY! The final straw was when she suggested Harlow for a girl and Jayden for a boy. I wrote back saying, "those are nice names, but not really our style. Thanks for the suggestions, but your brother and I are working on a list of our own and will share the baby's name when the time is right." It worked.
Besides, Angelina reminds me of the chick from Jersey Shore!!! (No offense intended to anyone named Angelina).
