3rd Trimester

i think they're crazy...

So starting about three weeks ago I started having braxton hicks more regularly like 7+ times an hour...Since my last appointment 2 weeks ago they have calmed down until today...I have had 4 in the past 25minutes. I haven't called my doctor because I have an appointment today at 4:30 so I figure I can tell him then. My boyfriend and my mom are convinced that she is going to come early. Not meaning this early, but they don't think she's going to hold out till' her January 18th due date...but I think they're nuts.

  • As long as you can breath and talk through them, you are fine. Just because you get BH doesn't mean baby will be early. I haven't had ANY BH yet my pregnancy (that I feel anyways).

     PS...LOVE the boxer :) I have 2 myself.

    Dehydration?

Was thinking this too.  Have you tried increasing your fluids to see if it makes a difference in how many you have?  I know a lot of pregnant women say they can't drink so much fluid and trust me I understand...I use to be able to make a 20oz coke last me from morning, through dinner!  Now, because I know I have to, I drink anywhere from 60-80 oz a day.  I'm 29 weeks, and I think I've had 2 BH...but that's not necessarily because I drink so much, my doctor said to just count myself lucky.  Try fluid increase and see what happens.

*Love the boxer too...my sister has always had them, such sweet sweet dogs and were always GREAT with her kids*

  • I had a ton w/ DD & she was born exactly on her due date. I do find that mine calm down when I drink some water & rest, but this time around that's not always easy to do chasing after DD.  If you're not in pain & aren't having any other signs, I'd say your body is just getting lots of practice.  hopefully it'll help LO move further down as it gets closer so she's easier to push out :)
