Mommy and baby workout classes

Just looking for mommy and me exercise classes here in San Antonio?

Re: Mommy and baby workout classes

  • Have you checked out stroller strides?  They are super popular.

  • No I haven't, but thanks. I'm only 1 week PP, but I just wanted to get a head start on places I can workout and play with baby. I'm going to be home with baby for 6 month and started getting worried about PPD if I can't find things to keep me busy. Thanks for the information!

  • I'm interested in your findings!  I'm due in March and already looking into possible activities for later.  Does anyone here do Stroller Strides? Any other new mom groups?

  • I do stroller strides currently and I really enjoy it.   There are two franchises in San Antonio: North San Antonio and Stone Oak.   Your membership doesn't cross over from one to the other.   I belong to the North San Antonio one and they have all their information on meet up.   They meet every weekday for class at various locations and then have various playdates and mom's night out activities during the month.   I really enjoy the group of ladies in the group.  You can always try out the first class for free to see if it's a good fit for you.   A jogging stroller is best but I did the first 6 months with a snap N go and it worked fine.

Destination Maternity had a Mommy and me yoga class on Tuesdays.   It works best when your baby isn't yet mobile.   They do about 15 minutes of massage for the baby and the rest is yoga for mom while the baby lays on the mat.  Good luck.

  • Congratulations on being a new mom.  If you are looking to get out of the house, we started little gym at 41/2 months and Gymboree shortly thereafter.  Not a work out for mom really, except that you move around a lot, but I met some great friends with babies my little girls age.  We started a little play group, saw movies, and had lunch together.  I also found the library story time (baby time) to be awesome for getting out And meeting moms.  They sign songs most of the time, and read two or three books.   Even the smallest babies can benefit from that.  Good luck.
