Drakes birth story

Thanksgiving morning at 5:30 am I woke up having painful contractions but I could walk through them and talk through them so I figured it was just a false alarm. 

After a couple of hours of walking around the apartment, Drinking ice water, trying to relax I decided might as well head to L&D just to get checked to calm my head.

Headed out the door with DD and DH at about 8:00am. The drive to the hospital usually takes about 30 min but we hit every single red light in town so we got in around 9.

As soon as they checked my cervix the L&D nurses went to a mad dash to page my doctor (lucky he was on call that day) I was dilated to a 7/8! Found out that the little guy was sunny side up and shortly after back labor had begun. I must admit that was beyond painful... But I was able to hold my composure.

My doctor came in and broke my water and we waited for things to progress further on there own.

He finally came at 1:45pm after about 4 pushing sessions! He was 6lbs and 10oz and 19 1/2 inches long.

He is still doing great today although I am still recovering from a pretty intense internal tear.
