I just got back trom my two week check up and I gained 10 lbs. So that brings my total weight gain thus far to 84 pounds!!!!!!!!!! I'm active, I watch my diet, I don't eat fast food, but I do have edema (swelling). I still have 8 weeks to go...what am I gonna do? Anybody else in this boat with me? If so, what are you doing about the weight gain/edema?
Re: 10 lbs in 2 weeks... OMG!
The most I gained in 2 weeks was 7 lbs. so I feel for ya. I also exercise, watch my diet (mostly) and don't eat fast food, I have gained a lot more than I wanted to during this pregnancy but not nearly as much as you have. I don't really have much advice, but if you are watching your diet, eating healthy and exercising then there probably isn't a whole lot for you to do. Drinking lots of water can help with the edema, also putting fresh lemon in your water has helped on days when I have a lot of edema. Talk to your doctor, maybe you could see a dietician. Sorry I haven't been much help, but if baby is healthy and you are healthy then try the best you can and that's all you can do. Good luck.
i just had a 5lb gain in one week! i was blown away.. i haven't gained 5lbs at any appointments... not even between the monthly ones! i cried on my way home. i know it sounds so dumb, i just thought i was doing so well, and then 5lbs in one week. i am praying this baby comes soon so i can start taking the weight off!
maybe you just had a growth spurt, and next check-up you will gain nothing.. don't worry, you will loose it all after you have your little one!
The most I gained from one appointment to the next was 7 lbs. and that was a week apart! At this point I've gained 56+ lbs and am having issues with edema as well...I get the swelling on my thighs and to make things gross on the bottom part of my stomach. The spurts do slow down- my last few visits I've gained 2 or fewer pounds and I found avoiding really salty foods, drinking lots of water and keeping things propped up as often as possible has helped alot.
Besides weight gain in pregnancy while traumatic and godawful really isnt worth beign upset about. It's just part of the game and while everyone would like to keep it under 30lbs lets be honest- most of us won't.
i gained 60 with my daughter, and already 60 and am at 37 weeks. Thank god for induction in a week and a half!
I lost 35 literally within 2 weeks! 15 of it was really hard though but i didnt commit to it for a while.
Don't stress- a lot of that weight is water when you gain that much.
You're body knows what it's doing.
With my DD I gained 70 lbs and I about freaked. But it wasn't extremely worried about it after she got here.
I know my last doctors apt. I had gained 10 lbs (I'm still on monthly visits until after my next one) and freaked out.The most I've ever gained in that time period was 7 lbs. Now I just have to wait and see if i've gained anywhere near that again. I'm hoping not.
