Babies: 3 - 6 Months

BC Question?

So, I really feel like a moron.. But I'm not sure what to do. I'm 13 weeks pp and started BC at my 6 week appt, I skipped my period at the end of the 1st pill pack because I was in a wedding and didn't want to be miserable. Well I'm at the end of My 2nd  pack now and I took the last sugar pill yesterday and still no period. :/. Not even spotting or feeling crampy! I've been good about taking them and haven't missed one so I really don't think I'm pregnant. Do I just start my next pack, wait till I start... Ugh take a pregnancy test? Not sure what to do? Help!

Re: BC Question?

  • Are you BF?  I have never been on the pill so it may be different, but you don't always get your period back immediately PP.  I didn't get mine after DD until 13 months PP (it was NICE!).  This time around, I have Mirena so I am not sure how that affects things, but 4.5 months in, and still no period.  Maybe call your doctor?

  • Just keep taking your pills like normal. At the end of the placebo pills start taking the active pills of the next pack. It's normal to not get your period regularly after delivery even when you're on the pill. If you're concerned about missing it still then POAS and/or call your doctor.

  • I combo (BF/FF) feed, have no form of BC in or on my person, DS is 4 months old today, and I still havent seen AF. Before my BFP, you could set your watch to my cycles. It's just part of having a baby; your hormones need time to level out. It varies from person to person; there are ladies on my BMB that EBF and got AF 8-10 weeks PP, and others (like me) that have yet to see it, or are only spotting on occasion. Personally, I wouldnt worry - just keep taking your pills as if nothing has changed; take a HPT if it'll make you feel better, but otherwise enjoy not having AF now while you still can!

  • always always always take your pill like regular!  call your doc in the meantime if you have questions... im sure its normal.  i got my AF at barely 6 wks pp so by the time i started the pill again it was just a matter of syncing up to the pill cycle.  and i still haven't had a quite normal pill period yet. esp if you haven't gotten your AF yet, the pill may not necessarily jump start it.  but definitely keep on with the pill!
