So I walked into LO's daycare last night and he was drinking his last bottle. Looks like he had just started it when I arrived. I sat there and basically just watched the caregiver feed him. Should I have offered to feed him instead of her. I wasn't really thinking and after about 15 minutes I felt really stupid just sitting there watching someone else feed my baby.
Thoughts? I'm just curious what others would have done in that situation. I'm new to this. He's only been at daycare the past month.
Re: Daycare and feeding ??
I wouldn't worry about it. They're used to it.
If she had already started the bottle, I'd have just left her finish so as not disrupt the baby.
I used to work in a daycare and parents did all sorts of things in that situation. It never really mattered to any of us. I think the general consensus was, "I'm still paying you, so you might as well finish it for me."
"I'm still paying you, so you might as well finish it for me."
that was kind of my thinking
I walked into a similar situation yesterday except they had just warmed the bottle and not started yet. I asked if it would be disruptive if I took him and fed him, since I figured it was time I could hang out and be with my son after a really hairy day at work. They had no problem with it.
I have to admit, that I feel silly sitting there watching someone else care for my son, even though I'm paying them to do just that.
