WTF Update

We had our WTF today. The RE doesn't know why the cycle failed. He just said we had a 60/40 chance and we happened to fall on the bad side of the odds. As we are unexplained, I'm always looking for an answer, but he doesn't seem to think anything suspicious is up. Despite the unknown failure, I think the appointment went as well as could be expected. He's planning on changing things up (but not too much), so we feel good about moving forward with a new cycle. Here are the changes:

1. Still doing a Stop Lupron protocol, but with 10 units of Lupron instead of 15. He said it took awhile for my ovaries to wake up and he doesn't want me to go for 12 days of stims this time.

2. Start Follistim at 300 IU (I went from 225 to 300 to 225 last time). He was pleased with my follicle count, but would like to see it move a little faster next time.

3. Assisted Hatching and/or transferring two embryos

4. PIO instead of Endometrin (because I started my period on Endometrin, we are going to up the progesterone support)

He has to check with the lab's holiday schedule, but it looks like I'll start Lupron around Christmas for a January retrieval! Anyone else starting stims in January?

(((hugs))) We were basically the same story! RE had no reason why our cycle failed. I'm not sure that adds more stress or more hope. I'm happy you have a plan moving forward, and sometimes that in itself, brings lots of hope.

Sounds similar to my WTF after my first failed IVF.  I think the changes are great.

I'm sorry you fell on the wrong side of the odds.  I hope changing things a bit will bring you a sticky BFP.  I'm starting lupron around Christmas and stims in early Jan as well.   Good luck cycle buddy!
