Darn, I have the crockpot going at home - a 6 or 6.5 quart one, I think. It's a 2 pounds of cut up chicken recipe with 3 cans of soup. 8 hour cook time. It goes automatically to warm, which it will be doing for 4 hours. This is the first time I've tried to do this, and I've been reading up on it, and it doesn't sound good. I'm thinking I'm going to have a ton of burned chicken when I get home. I am, aren't I? The crockpot is too big, and the chicken will be in the crockpot too long, right?
Re: Shoot, what are my chances?!
I think you will be fine. I have never had anything burn in the crockpot before and I have left stuff in there longer than 8 hours.
Thanks for the reassurances, ladies! Otherwise I'd be sitting here stressing all day.
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
You CAN burn stuff in the crockpot if its in there too long and all the liquid cooks out. Its not impossible, its just not super easy to do.
You'll probably be fine, but your chicken might be dried out being on the warm setting for so long. Its hard to tell until you actually try it.
