I lied about my LMP

Like many women I ovulate a week or more later than average.  I have been to too many sonograms where I've heard that I'm measuring a week behind and my heart skips a beat. No matter how many times I explain to the receptionist that I O late they still want to schedule my first sono based on my LMP b/c it is their practice.  I get that, but I charted, used a CBEFM and OPK's. I've got a good idea of when we conceived.

So I decided this time to make my LMP - EDD match my O date- EDD. I know this won't change the outcome of what we see or do not see on the u/s, but I'm hoping I won't hear "your measuring a week behind" this time. At least if I do I won't have to justify a late O to anyone.

Yep, this sh*t makes you crazy.

    Good idea.  I wouldn't want to hear ' you're a week behind' evey single time.

    I hear ya.  I would actually be almost 3 weeks behind if they went by LMP.  I almost wish I would have thought to lie...

    I definitely thought about doing this since I ovulated about 2 weeks later than 'normal'. It was kind of annoying seeing "7w5d" on the screen, when I was only measuring 6 weeks. I was like "no it's okay, I know when I ovulated". Good idea. :P

    This stuff does make you crazy!!! I didn't get a positive HPT until cd57. Obviously my LMP date really doesn't count.  Well they dated me as May17th. I kept saying I don't think I'm that far along and I was dismissed a little and told that we would find out at my first u/s. Every appt I had before that they would reference this date and it made me nuts. At my first u/s the tech is making a face like she's terrified. I told her that I thought I was only 6 or 7 weeks not the 10 weeks they were saying I was. She said oh good, you had me nervous. You're measuring 6w6days. My new due date is June 13th. I just wanted to scream TRUST ME!!!!!  lol

    I did too. Mine was 9-18 and I told them 9-22, and I was right!  I figured it was easier than after them telling me what I was measuring behind to explain that I ovulated later.

    That's actually a great idea. Not only will you be measuring on time, but they won't try to induce you because you are 40 weekday based in your EDD. You will likely not be ready to be induced and end up with a c/s possibly (and more importantly an undercooked baby.

    Exactly!  Even though you know when you O'd it still nerve wracking to justify it.

    I totally would have lied about my lmp on this cycle but I ended up bringing my charts in for my OB so she would know. Last time I o'd on cd52 and the nurses and u/s techs kept freaking me out because I was measuring so small...even though I kept telling them I knew exactly when I ovulated. This time my ob's nurse seems to understand.

    I'm not even telling my Dr I'm PG until I'm IN his office otherwise I won't see him until 10-12 weeks and I'm just not comfortable with that after last time.

    It really drives me crazy that any woman feels that she even has to do this at all - I mean, aren't doctors supposed to know that LMP is not necessarily the be-all end-all to pregnancy dating?  With my last doc, I went in there with my charts printed out, and he still didn't date me according to my ovulation.  My new doctor was much more willing to take it into account.  I'm glad you took matters into your own hands, OP.

    Geez your awesome, wish I would have thought about that.  I am so tired of hearing your measuring 2-3 weeks ahead, and how many times I told you all my LMP was April 2 and on May 1 I only spotted for a few hours on the 1st and 2nd, could have easily been implantation bleeding or nothing at all. Then on top of that I had a very very very dark BFP on May 26! Damn wish I would have tested much earlier or just lied.  Honesty is NOT the best policy Sad
