My DD is 3 weeks and has had very text book breastmilk poopies until last night. They are still mustard colored and grainy, but have white strings in it (Almost like string cheese).
Also she really isn't hungry, she will drink the "store" milk, but won't feed long enough to get the good stuff (since about 2-3 this morning, I think she fed well once and that was it). Which is not like her, since the last 48-72 hours she finally started nursing for 15-20 minutes (from her previous 10 minutes, she is very little).
So I'm a FTM and I'm getting worried! Is this normal, could it be a sign of something else? TIA!
Re: A Breast Feeding Poop Question
If I understand correctly, you posted at almost 2 pm and she's only nursed once since 2-3 am? It's not ok that she's only eaten once or even twice in 12 hours. You have to get her to nurse.
Does she have a fever? It sounds like she has mucous in her stool.
I would be nursing her every 2-3 hours. Check her temperature. If she has a fever, call the pedi. Keep watching her stools for anything ou of the ordinary.
