I am attending the leadership conference at the Austin Convention Center tomorrow morning. I am coming from 45-60 minutes north (in easy traffic). I've never driven downtown on a business day. meeting starts at 8am. How much time do I need to allow? The doors open at 6:45am so if it makes more sense to get there super early, so be it.

Re: NBR: AM traffic downtown
I'd allow even extra time tomorrow, as it's the day after a long holiday weekend and EVERYONE will be working. traffic is likely to be a nightmare. However, things aren't usually too bad before 8am, so you might not get into the worst of it.
If it usually takes you 45-60 minutes to get downtown with no traffic, I'd add at least 30 minutes, if not a little longer just to play it safe.
