Baby Shower Canceled

My dad's friends (who had thrown my bridal shower) insisted that I have a shower.  I gratefully accepted.  They however decided to slowly add more and more responsibilities and tasks to my mother, along with being a bit disorganized.  I was told the shower would be in early November.  Then late November.  Then December 10.  

Today I heard from my dad that my mom canceled it, but was too embarrassed to tell me (yet).  She was just too stressed doing the work. 

I'm very glad I've been shopping the sales on needed items and didn't just wait for the shower!  Looking forward to getting my completion discount coupons soon.

So sorry to hear that, I don't know who I would be more disapointed with - your mother or your Dad's friends.

wow, that's a sucky situation, and it's probably better that you not know any details.  it's sweet that they went as far as to "insist" but it looks like it got too complicated.  i bet all the stuff you got is way cuter than the stuff you'd get at a shower, anyway!

That really stinks, I'm sorry that this has happened. I'm sure you're disappointed, I know I would be. I hope someone else will step up and take over. Maybe your mom just needs to find a cohost to help her out.

How disappointing, I think it is so much worse that they insisted and then didn't follow through than if they just said they couldn't do it in the first place. Makes planning difficult. Has your mom said anything to you? You at least deserve an apology.
