Just wondering what everyone thought about this name..... DH is SOLD on it, but I prefer Max. There will be 2 middle names - so it would be 'Maximus Jack Weldon (last name)' Jack and Weldon are both family names and we are definately using them. DH does not want to use either of the MN's as a FN either.
So, opinions on Maximus
And DD's name is Caylin Jean- if that helps out at all.
Re: Maximus
**Good luck to gatorwife,MissIntentional&corinne2010! Congrats to Piper2009!
I like Maximus. Sure, it's the name from Gladiator. But really, you'll just be calling him Max all the time anyway. So who cares what his full name is? If your husband really loves it, it sounds like a nice compromise.
Besides, Max Jack Weldon sounds ridiculous.
All the kids will call him Gluteus.
And what if he's kind of husky? Would you really want to burden a big kid with a name like "Maximus"?
Seriously???
There is nothing wrong with Maximus (I prefer Maxwell myself). It's a strong name and it flows with the two MNs.
This just seems like a name for a gladiator and not a regular person. I want to like it, but I just can't picture it on a normal adult, let alone a child or baby.
I'm kind of tired of it, but I do like the nn Max.

Just Max to me is a dog name, just because I know too many dogs named Max...(I know it's personal.)
Proud mother of two breech babies:)
It is a serious contender for us if this LO is a boy. He will probably go by Max, which to me is just too short for a first name. Like PP pointed out, Maximus flows better than Max with the chosen MNs.
Maximus is a strong name which is why I love it.

For some reason, I hear this name and automatically think of Optimus Prime from Transformers. I think its b/c the endings are similar :-/
Either way, not a bad name, IMO.
