35w appt=sent to triage

Appointment this morning was crazy. I went in and saw the midwife as my OB was out this week, had a regular check up, group b strep swab and an internal where she noted I had dilated to 2cm and 40% effaced since my last appt last week when I was closed. I had complained of some abdominal pain (I have been having some major gas issues, sorry tmi!) so she suggested putting me on the monitors to see if I was actually in labor.

Fast forward 20 minutes later and she has the other OB in there with us because BG's HR was through the roof.

They checked to see if I was leaking any fluid (they were worried about an infection) and I wasnt so they sent me to triage to be monitored with strict instructions not to eat in case it turned into an emergency situation.

Two hours on the monitors and bloodwork showed everything to be just fine, her HR slowed to a normal rate almost immediately.

I am having fairly regular contractions although they arent unbearable so apparently I am just one of those people that has weeks of early labor Tongue Tied

  • Don't worry about the early contractions.. I have been having them since October 14th and have been placed on bed rest and given antibiotics for an infection and see if it might have stopped or lessen the contractions but still no hope... Mine aren't painful but each week I am hooked up to a NST (non-stress test) to make sure that I am not in true labor and LO is doing good... Plus now I have weekly BPP ultrasounds.... I was given Celestone incase he decided to make an early appearance and I will be 35 Weeks on Thanksgiving and it seems that he just wants to stay in there and bake...  As long as he keeps baking I am happy.... :)

  • Sorry to hear about the contractions. Sounds like you have a good team of doctors taking care of you though! Hope baby girl hangs in a few more weeks for you :-).
