I went to the doctor today for my 37 week check and once again I was no progression. My first born my water broke at a little over 38 wks and I wasn't progressed at all so i pretty much had to do that in the hospital. My doctor informed me that we can induce at 39 weeks, I thought it sounded like a good plan. Anyone have exsperience with being induced? I imagine it would be like my first labor since I wasn't even dialted with her when I went to the hospital. I don't really want to read to much on line because all i'm sure to see is horror stories.
Re: Induction at 39 weeks.
I was induced at 39 weeks, 1 day with DD due to PUPPS. However, the only reason the doctor suggested it was because I was already 2 cm dialated and baby was at a 0 station--she told us that if I had not been "making progress" on my own, than she would not have offered it. It was a great experience for us--not only did I get relief from the itchy rash I had, but my total labor was 12 hours and I felt really good and prepared since we had a few days notice of the induction to get the final items ready (I'm a huge planner). My induction only involved using pitocen, and they broke my water about 5 hours into it. I also did have an epidural, which I got when I was 5 cm dialated.
This time around, doctor offered to induce again if I was progressing well and I took her up on the offer. At my last appt, I was at a 0 to +1 station, 2 cm dialated, and 90% effaced, so we went ahead and scheduled the induction for 11/28--I'll be 39 weeks, 3 days. I'm hoping I have as great of an experience as last time around.
GL to you and feel free to ask any questions you have!!
Will baby #3 be another girl?
