Hi girls!
I'm back from my long weekend with my BF! I had an amazing time, although at the 24 hour mark exactly I missed my girls terribly! DH was awesome about sending me pics all weekend so that helped a lot! I did a lot of nothing with my friend, ate good food, and drank lots of wine! It was the perfect trip that came at the perfect time. Hope all of you can get a break soon - and jailaalaa, hope you had a good time and got some good mexican food!
My Thanksgiving PSA is to clean your ovens today! I did the self cleaning cycle on mine last night and will scrub the door today. My cooking starts tomorrow so I want a nice clean canvas to work with!
Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving - and for those of you who are traveling, be safe!
Re: I'm Back!! And Thanksgiving PSA
You are so cute - welcome back!
4 Fresh IVF cycles + 1 FET where embies didn't survive the thaw = 2 perfect little men!
sFET 11/9/11 - Beta 11/18 BFP!
I don't know how to use the self-clean function on my oven. Do you generally have to add anything to it?
I normally just scrub it by hand with a sponge and homemade solution and then remove the racks and scrub them in the sink.
HAHAHAHAH!!!
Good Lord girl....if you have a self cleaning oven, STOP SCRUBBING!
You don't have to do anything. Just run the self cleaning cycle. Depending on your oven, you may have options for how long it will run. I haven't done mine in a while, so I opted for the full 4 hour cycle. Basically your oven gets so hot it burns everything off. It locks the door so you can't open it until it's cooled down and done. If you have big spills or messes they usually say to try and get that stuff off by hand before hand, but I don't normally have anything that bad. Check your manual. I love the self clean cycle.
I tried the self-cleaning on mine when I was pg with DD1 and the smell was so bad I had to shut it off mid cycle and run outside to puke LOL... So needless to say I haven't tried it since then, but I am pretty meticulous about not making messes in there.
Are you supposed to take the racks out or leave them in?
ETA: your mini mommy vacation sounds wonderful!
Weird! I've never read that before. It must only be slight because I always try to do it before a big cooking session (like a holiday) and I've never had a problem roasting or baking because of it. So I guess mine's ok!
Check your manual - I left mine in though.
Thanks - it was great!
