I just danced around like a madman for about 45 minutes, and all it did was give my son hiccups. (I haven't changed my tickers, yet, I'm due Dec. 15th and my induction date is set for the 12th.) I'm full term on Thanksgiving, and he's measuring 4 days ahead. I am extremely uncomfortable due to my RA and I also would like to have him before we're planning to move on the 16th of December. I don't want to take my 4 day old on a 2 hour flight, if not necessary. I'm having my mother pick up pineapple for me, and I plan on going on a walk a little bit later in the day. Anything else that worked for you or friends?

Re: Inducing labor naturally...
My midwife has recommended the following (saying they are all safe) and I have been doing them EVERY DAY for the last week...hopefully I meet LO soon because I too am uncomfortable and starting to lose my mind.
-Evening Primrose Oil Capsules
-Sex (both the orgasm and semen are good to soften the cervix)
-Fresh pineapple
-Spicy food
-Long walks
-Exercise (elliptical for 45 mins)
-Red raspberry leaf tea
I'm way too afraid to try castor oil. It sounds super uncomfortable and I'm not that desperate yet.

Sex, Labor cookies (gingerbread cookies with 1 tsp cayenne pepper added), accupressure, nipple stimulation (though I wouldn't do that until full term).
I've been there! I was induced at 41 weeks 1 day and those last days after your due date can be miserable! No "natural inductions" worked for me and even the forced hospital one didn't. But you'll be meeting your LO soon!! Good luck!
Oh gosh, you're moving... That makes things difficult, huh?
I am not a doctor, so I don't know, but it would seem to me that you're too far from your due date to "trick" your body into labor, if that's even possible anyway. It kinda sounds dangerous. It seems that usually your body won't go in to labor until it's ready. Medical inductions don't always work for the same reason, the body and baby aren't ready.
That being said, I read that sex can bring on contractions. Something about the semen.
I would talk to your doctor about your moving situation and your desire to induce so early. I can completely understand not wanting to fly with a 4 day old, but it is more important to make sure that your baby is as healthy as possible. While, yes, 36 weeks is getting to be pretty darn close and 37 weeks is "full term" it doesn't mean that your LO is ready to be born yet. As stressful as flying with a newborn could be it could be much much worse if you miss that flight entirely because LO is still in the NICU with premature lungs or other issues.
I don't know you moving situation, but would it be possible to push your flight back? Is there someone you could stay with for a few days or you could stay in a hotel for a while? I hate to be a negative Nancy, just trying to look at all angles, but I would also consider alternative plans in case your induction on the 12th doesn't go as planned and you end up needing a C-section. You may not be ready to fly at that point anyway.
I got nothing...
I have been bouncing on the birth ball, walking, taking EPO (500mg orally three times a day, and one vaginally at bedtime), spicy food I think will just give me heartburn, and my husband has been working 12 hour days and passing out..so no sex this week yet. I did tell him he has to have sex with me tomorrow night though..ha ha. Also tried accupressure.
I have also been eating pineapple but it's just giving me gas. nice.
good luck.

if your body isn't ready, nothing it going to work.
If you actually read about these natural methods, they all say they can help prep the body for labor (ie, semen can help soften the cervix, walking can help get baby lower into the pelvis, etc), not that they actually put you into labor.

If your cervix isn't ready nothing is going to help. But if it is try castor oil. My water was broke 6 days and my Midwife said it was time to have my baby so she made me a shake with 3oz yes that is 3 ounces of castor oil half a banana and 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream. Drink it with a straw! It will induce awful diarrhea but they cause contractions! But on the bright side you won't poop during delivery! Lol! Also do nipple stimulation by rolling your nipples between your fingers (or if DH is willing enlist his help it will be more effective) Do only 10 min on and 10 min off to avoid overstimulating your uterus.
This method will work if you cervix is ready! Sex and EPO will ripen your cervix. Make sure you drink lots of water to avoid dehydration.
Good Luck!
