Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Early morning sleep trouble

I know there is a 4 month wakeful, but this is something that has been going on for a while. LO has always had trouble sleeping during the early morning hours. When she was in our room she would grunt for hours (maybe from gas) and be awake needing her paci every 30-45 minutes. The grunting has stopped, but not the awake every 30-45 minutes. This usually happens about 1-2 hours after her night feeding. When I go in, I don't say a word. I put the paci in, lay my hand on her tummy, and turn on the noise machine. Her eyes close immediately, but then within 30-45 minutes I can hear the paci come out over the monitor and her fussing and whining starts. I have tried to wait and see if she will fall back asleep (because she can do this before the night feeding) but if I wait she will start to cry. After about 3 trips back into the nursery I am so tired, and give up by bringing her to my bed. As soon as she hits the bed, she is fast asleep. She will stay asleep for 2 hours or so before waking again in my bed. I am looking for advice on how to get LO to stay asleep in her crib after that night feeding. I am thinking about trying a dream feed tonight to see if that will extend her first stretch of sleep, but I don't know if it will work yet. Any advice would  be appreciated.
