Sitting on the toilet - literally

So pre-huge belly pregnancy I didnt sit on any public toilet - I'd hover just because I have a thing with germs and toilets and some restrooms are really really dirty.

But now... Its SO hard to hover and its not like I can wait to pee (especially when I work 10 plus hours a day) So today I took the plunge and sat on the toilet. It felt so weird.I know they clean the bathrooms here at work often so I guess I dont feel as dirty about sitting on the toilet here plus they have those little cover things.... but I am thinking about other public restrooms that dont have those little cover things and are really dirty (like Walmart or some restaurants) and now all I can think about is how I am gonna be showering when I get home after having to sit on one of those toilets...

Anyone else feeling this way too or am I the only crazy one?

I Am totally with you!! But like you said--at least there are seat covers... For the BRs that don't have them I make my own out of tp!

Agree.  Toilets are gross.  I try to go into the handicap stalls so I can hold myself up with the bar (which are probably just as dirty but at least I can wash my hands!)

 Jenna Fischer was on The Tonight Show a few months back and was complaining about this, it was so funny! I think she was about 8 months pregnant at the time.

I always quickly wipe public toilet seats with a piece of toilet paper to get anything off... and if there IS pee on it, I lay TP down on the seat! If it's a lot, off to another bathroom for me!

Yes, If you sprinkle when you tinkle...be a sweetie and wipe the seatie!!

I hover as well. I can't stand using public restrooms.

I just wipe it off then put tp over it as well. Keeps the germs at bay! Get used to it bc you won't be able to hover for awhile after the baby too... Ow!

Since I don't go anywhere without a diaper bag thanks to my little step sweetie I keep antibacterical wipes with me...I usually wipe the seat down with one of those especially for her royal highness since she uses her hands to hold herself up on the grown up potty.

I've seen studies that sheow public toilets are cleaner thank most people's desks at work and people eat off those.

Unless the seat is visibly gross, I sit.  there are MUCH germ-ier things out there that we touch everyday without second thought.

I guess they don't bother me as much but I lived most of my life in a 3rd world country and THOSE bathrooms are way worse than anything you will see here in the u.s. 

However, I was at Toys R Us today and I had to use their restroom and I was pretty disgusted by the condition/smell/and how wet everything seemed to be. I was surprised a big chain store like that would allow their restrooms to get so yucky.....

Meh, I'm a hoverer. Many nights of hovering over a fraternity toilet seat in 3 inch heels, and after a few drinks, built up some fantastic hovering muscles (I dated a fraternity brother for 3 years) that have yet to fail me in 2 pregnancies.

I sit. Unless I feel like dealing with a stair case every time I have to pee I end up using the public restroom at work. Regardless of how the seat looks I wipe and then line it with TP. After 8 months of frequent bathroom trips it really is NBD.

What DID really suck was my pre-medicated HG shifts. Puking in a public restroom is not cool.
