Help with a gift for twins

Hello!  I am hoping you can help me.  I am going to a birthday party for two twin boys who are turning two.  I was thinking of getting one larger gift for the both of them and one small individual gift for each of them.  However, should I just get totally separate presents?  Is it annoying to twins when people get them one gift to share?  I thought I'd get some advice from moms of multiples.  Thanks so much!!

2 gifts.  Even if it's two of the same, I appreciate not having to play mediator on who gets to play with the new toy.

If it's a "sharable" gift, I don't mind getting one (like, maybe a giant set of crayons or an easel or something like that), but if it's something only one kid can play with at a time, skip it and get them each the same thing.
