He had the pre-op for Evie's adnoid removal surgery. Everything on the paper was a code so I didn't realize that they were going to have to draw blood. It was a nightmare.
The tubing that connects the little needle to the blood vile wasn't working properly. The nurse tried to change the tube and that didn't work. So, they had to start all over again on the other arm. Evie was shaking her head no and screaming "No, No!" She was so upset that her entire body was shaking and I could feel her little heart pounding through her back. She started to gag and I thought for sure she was going to throw up on the nurse.
So her just shy of 20 months stats are:
Height- 34 3/4 inches
Weight- 34 pounds
Re: had pre-op and almost 20 month stats
Poor Evie and poor you, I can't imagine dealing with a blood draw with a toddler. I had to take J when he was 3 weeks old, they pedi said it should just be a heel prick, but when I got to Quest they insisted that it had to be a vial. Holding down my screaming 3 week old while they shoved a needle in his tiny arm and took a vial was torture.
Hugs to you during this entire process, it can't be easy, but she's so young she probably wont remember a thing.
Ugh. I hate having my blood drawn. DD has only had her blood taken, once since the NICU and OMG that was horrible enough. Poor you and Evie.
Wow look at those stats! I have a tiny peanut!
Major hugs to you too!
That is horrible!!! I feel awful that Matthew still hasn't had his 2 y.o. blood check yet, but after the blood draw at 14 months, I told dh that I am not going to do it w/o him being there. It seriously was the worst!
