I just saw this on my local news and it was the first I had ever heard of it.
(sorry on my mac)
It described dangers from features that seem to be on every pack and play. removable changing table and floor. as well as collapsing in a v shape.
Anyone else hear anymore this? The report said theres no safety requirments and there wont be til 2012
Re: Pack N Play accidents
If I've learned one thing about being a parent so far its that you can never take your eye off of your child.
There are often safety features on items designed for infants (ie., straps on a swing) but that doesn't mean your child is safe.
Safety features or not, the only way your child is safe is when you're watching them.

And not even always then.
This. And while it is an awful story, why was the changing station still on there with a 13 month old playing in the pack n play to begin with? There is a warning on mine that says strangulation can occur between changing station and pack n play and not to use it while child is in the play yard. People need to read the warnings and not take them lightly. They are there for a reason.
