Those freaking cups @ my Ob's

I'm totally fine with having to pee in a cup everytime I have to go in.  But come on...don't give me a little dixie cup and expect me to be able to manuver that thing around my basketball belly and get good enough aim to get anything in that flipping cup! The end.

I swear, they should provide a funnel. I'm so sick of peeing all over my hand and then spending 5 mins washing up because I'm grossed out by myself, lol.

Yeah, they really need to have gloves in the bathroom for us - because sticking the cup under there and hoping for the best means only about half the pee makes it in the cup.

Haha! Yes! I've only peed on myself a couple times, but I have such a hard time getting "enough" in the cup! To try and stop the peeing on my hand, I've stopped sticking the cup under there until I'm mid-stream, so i don't so much as have to aim, but just catch it. The only problem with that is that I'm peeing so much, it might not be much and I have to be quick about it. And, sometimes I end up peeing all over the outside of the cup and have to wipe it down... 

They should a) (as PP said) give us funnels or b) come up with some sort of contraption that sits inside the toilet and catches it for us.

I usually let a little pee trickle into the toilet first, then I can see where the pee is coming from - then I pee into the cup.  Never had an issue!

Seriously. When I showed up at the hospital in very active labor (gave birth an hour and a half later), one of the first things they did was hand me a gown and a Dixie cup for a urine sample. I could hardly walk to the bathroom, my contractions were 45 seconds apart, and you want me to somehow pee into this tiny effing cup?

Roflmao! I tell my husband this every time I have an appointment, I get so sick of peeing on my damn hand and since I have short arms it's virtually impossible to get around my big ass belly- wiping is enough of a struggle and now you want me to aim for a damn cup!?  Its hilarious the only thing that makes it better is knowing that the 5 women in there before me that are due around the same time probably peed on their damn hands as well. See Carter is now pushed up against my bladder so bad that I can't tell if I have to REALLY pee or if its one of those fun five drop rounds*sigh* so now I chug a 44 ounce thing of water an hour before my appointment because I AM NOT going to aim for that cup more than once.

LOL! I don't remember having any issues from my first pregnancy but I went in yesterday and seriously think I got more on me than in the cup. Ugh.

Thankfully I don't have to pee in a cup at each of my appointments!!!  But, you know, gloves are cheap (and it's nice to have a box of them for when you have to clean up messes from the LO that are just plain gross!), bring your own in your purse and toss them in the trash when you're done!!!  Otherwise at the hospital they have them sitting right there on the shelf...Go for it and use them!

On a related note, what bugs me is that stalls are made so small sometimes...  Seriously, I shouldn't have to straddle the toilet to get my big belly in/out the door...  And for wiping, I dang near have to stand up to get my legs far enough apart to get business taken care of... ARGH!

I thought I was the only one!!!  I've dropped 2 in the water too.

Seriously, I haven't seen that piece of body for months, how in the hell am I supposed to be able to see my pee AND get my arm that far down there?!?!  One of these days I'm going to pee on my sleeve, I know it.

At least you have the cup...my OB Office just gives me the strip to pee on. I can bearely see where I'm putting that thing, it's a wonder I get it anywhere near where it needs to be!

I get to pee at home and take it in which is better, totally agree on getting it in the cup but then I have to stop mid stream because my cup is full.  And to the post where she has to pee on a strip, you are my hero how the heck do you do that?

ugh I hate the cups!
They started (about 2 months ago) making us carry our cups to the room after we pee in them and they dont have lids! I What if I walk about of the bathroom and then BAM slam into someone now we both have my pee on us! Or what if I trip (bc I do this all the time)... well now you have no pee to test!
Its annoying.
I did happen to notice though at my last appointment while searching for some paper towels, bc the roll was out, that there was a desk filled with cups with lids. I asked the nurse if they were always in there and she said yes so I totally plan on using them every time. I dont want to chance wearing my pee.
