Mildew question

If something has mildew spots on it, but it's been washed good in hot water and smells clean, is it safe? Thanks!!

Re: Mildew question

  • I wouldn't use it if I could still see the mildew.

What is it? If it's clothes, towels or the like it's fine. Mildew leaves a permanent stain on those things often times. If you washed it and can't smell the mildew I'd use it.

If it's on a bottle/food container or the like I would not use it. I'd probably throw it out even and I'm not much of a germ worrier.

It's on her seat in her jumperoo, it's not severe but you can see it if you look. She can't get her mouth onto where it is so I'm not overly worried but was wondering if there was some great risk I didn't know about. I've washed it and it smells fine, I'm thinking it's okay, but did wonder.

  • I'd say it's fine. Use a bit of a bleach solution on it (colorsafe if necessary) to make you feel better.
