Cloth Diapering

Wanted: Advice and a few CD covers to try

Hey CD board ladies-

I use disposables so far with newborn DD, but I'd love to try a few cute cloth covers. What would you recommend I do to get my feet wet since I'm such a newb to this, hahah, :)?

I don't mind used and in fact am looking to buy a few cute patterns/colors to try in sz 1 or small (she's about 10 lbs or just under, long, skinny baby)

Your sage advice??

TIA

  • So...you're just wanting to put covers over your sposies?  If that is the case, you could really use just about any cover as it would just be for aesthetic purposes. Size would be important if you plan on using the covers with prefolds, flats, fitteds, etc.  As far as sizing, you could do Thirsties XS covers or Bummis covers in small.  Your LO is still probably too little for the OS covers to fit very well.

  • Yeah, I'm a little confused too. Are you going to covers with some sort of cloth underneath, or just covers to go over the disposables? Knowing that will affect my answer.

    Thanks so much!

-- yup, I'm planning on just putting 'em over disposables for now and then if I ever venture fully into the CD world, I guess I'll buy inserts for the covers. I just want them to look cute with her tshirts and babylegs. :)

  • Anything will work. I'd get used or seconds if you're just looking for cuteness, not for function. You can try Spots Corner on Hyena Cart for used.
  • Thanks all, so far very helpful...

     Also, what's a fair/good price for used?

Depends on the condition. EUC or VGUC (excellent/very good used condition) can go for up to 80% of the original price. But in my experience covers are pretty cheap.
