I hear ya.... we decided to get rid of the paci this weekend and he only used it to sleep. So, last night was great...no problem at all. This morning...cried for 45 minutes (we went in every set number of minutes a la Ferber), and then later in the morning...2 minutes of fussing and boom...out! I'm praying for another easy bedtime like last night. Good Luck to both of us!!

Why get rid of it so early - unless you are playing the binky in -out game every night?

Turn the monitor off and go to the other end of the house. If you have a small house, take a shower. Even if you already took one. Stay in there until the hot water runs out. Seriously, listening to your baby cry is the hardest thing ever, but sometimes you have to let him cry so he can get the sleep he needs. Good luck, but don't feel like you have to listen to every second of the crying as a sort of guilt induced self-punishment!
Re: Listening to DS CIO
This. I don't even like to hear my toddler cry, can't imagine my baby!
