kid birthday party question

DD's birthday is in a month (yikes!)

I had originally planned to just have it at our house and just let the kids play in the house and the playroom and run around like maniacs.  I'll probably have ~10-15 kids - most are around 3, a few older preschooler and maybe 1 or 2 young toddlers.

I'm a little worried that they will either get bored or destructive, so I'm thinking of renting a bounce house for the afternoon.

So. .. question #1 - do you think I NEED the bounce house or do think everyone will be fine just playing

question #2 - do you think a bounce house in December is a bad idea?

Re: kid birthday party question

  • It may be a tad bit cold for a bouncing house. How about renting out a room at a roly poly or one of those gym places? Not sure how much that cost, but it's worth checking out.

  • I think you're very brave! That many kids would stress me out in my house. I don't think a bounce house in December is a BAD idea, but I agree with Jen about renting a facility.

  • I think you don't need one.  I think the kids can have lots of fun in your house.  Perhaps plan a craft (one that's not too messy or go all out if you are feeling brave), a story, a puppet show or songs, and then allow the rest of the time to be free play.  I think b/n some planned activities, unstructured ones, eating and presents you will have more than enough to do.  And if things start to get too wild you could always bust out with some freeze dance or something of that nature.
