When DS was little, my daycare provider provided breakfast and lunch once they could eat table foods/finger foods..
At our new daycare, we have to provide it. DD pretty much refuses purees at this point. She will eat cut up soft fruit, cheese, yogurt, cheerios, some pastas, pancakes..but that's all I can think of to send to daycare.. I'm especially looking for lunch ideas.
Any ideas, what do you send?
Re: What finger foods/table food do you send to daycare?
Have you tried the chunkier purees? C will eat those, sometimes. She also likes the little munchers snacks, and we recently found that she LOVES bread with any type of meat.
Also, the little ravioli meals from Gerber are good too, C really enjoys those. Now that C is 1 she cant eat whatever daycare provides- which include chicken nuggets, fish sticks, sandwiches, spahgetti (sp?? its late...) However, she was eating all that before 1, because she also HATED purees.
Here are some of O's favorite foods:
lentils, beans [whole black beans]
slices of avocado, tomato, cheese, raw bell pepper, pickles
dried apricots, sun dried tomatoes, currants
almond butter spread onto whole wheat crackers
We did BLW and he just eats what we eat, but small.
Also, have you ever mixed in purees with yoghurt? Carrots, beets, spinach, etc?
I have been struggling to think of things, too. Up until a little over a month ago, we only did purees.
So far I have sent yogurt, cut up steamed fruit, cheese pieces, little fruit purees of yogurt, fruit, and wheat germ....macaroni and cheese with broccoli and carrot pieces, a cheesy cauliflower bake thing with carrots and zucchini, fruit with cottage cheese and umm...that's all I can think of. He's only there 2 days/week.
I actually have no idea if his daycare provides any type of food or snack for them; I'm guessing they would have mentioned it by now if they did. Hmm..
