Success after IF

What is the ideal number for estrogen?

I  had b/w done on Thursday and my estrogen was 393 and my RE seemed to be excited about that. I had some more b/w this morning and am awaiting the results. My ER will be on Monday or Tuesday. I just read a post about someone's estrogen being 1,800. Mine seems really low and was just wondering the norm. Where should it be at this time? TIA

Re: What is the ideal number for estrogen?

  • My RE had told me that it should be between 200-300 for each mature follie. So you may have had a lot of follies but they werent mature yet. I am sure you will be much higher today. 1,800 sounds way too high (IMO, I am in no way an expert at this stuff!!!)

  • E2 (estrogen should be between 150-300 per mature follicle.

In terms of egg production my worst IVF cycle my E2 was about 1300-1500 (5 eggs retrieved)

2nd IVF (10 eggs retrieved) E2 was about 2000-2400 at time of ER

    3rd IVF (16 eggs retrieved E2 was almost 3500).

In the process of cycling for IVF # 4 right now.

Each person varies and just because your E2 is high/low it won't completely correlate with the number of eggs retrieved.

    Good luck!

  • Well over 1000 is normal for an IVF ER.  You often see people in the 2 or 3000 range - above that - RE's start getting really nervous about OHSS.  If your estrogen was close to 400 on Thursday - by today it could already be 1000 or over.  Once it starts going up - it often goes up pretty fast.  GOOD LUCK!!
    Wheee!
