Another GTKY: Superstitions

This weather is messing with my cleaning schedule. The "fall back" has left me with little time to vacuum, since it is bad luck in our family to vacuum after dark. As I hurried to get it done, I wondered do any of you have any superstitions you would like to share??!

I cant think of any off the top of my head but ive never heard of bad luck for vacuuming after dark, but im curious where that came from?

My maternal grandmother. She somehow related her vacuuming after dark to the loss of a loved one. The first time I heard of someone doing so, I was like "dont you know thats bad luck?" I was the crazy one though So, we just dont do it.

I won't buy anything baby related. It scares me. I bought DH favorite little golden book and I read it to him because it bothered me that much to buy a 'baby' book.

Thanks for sharing! i still cant think of one, but if i can i will post it! I agree with PP though i will not buy anything baby related, i dont want to "jinx" it.

We have names too, and my mom has bought fabric for a blankey and bought me maternity gift cards...but DH and I have not bought anything.

I have tons of superstitions! Throwing salt over my shoulder, blowing every puff off of a dandelion (sorry neighbors), make wishes on the first star I see every night and get out of bed on the same side I got in.

There are probably more, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I always make a wish when all the numbers on a digital clock are the same.  None ever come true but it hasn't stopped me!

I will not walk under ladders, and everyplace I have lived has to have a horseshoe over the door. When I was little I had to leave a friends sleep over because they had a horseshoe that was turned the wrong way I was inconsolable!

I am very supersticious but most Greeks are. Here goes right now I have a bracelet on to ward off evil spirits (it's actually pretty), salt over the left shoulder, lift feet while going over rr tracks. Baby related ones I refuse to let anyone talk to me about baby stuff especially in 2ww, we have bought nothing but do have names. Plus I always say when we hopefully have kids it should not just be assumed. I could go on and I.
