Dilated last week but not yesterday? Whaat?

So for the last two weeks my dr. has said that I was about a cm dilated and soft then yesterday (same dr!) she tells me since I am not dilated and my cervix is unfavorable we will have to try cervidil for my induction... wtf. Am I actually regressing instead of progressing? I was a little confused but too overwhelmed to ask too many questions... I am going to the hospital in a few hours to get started but anyone have any thoughts on this?!

I know sometimes swelling can cause numbers to fluctuate a little bit. Maybe there just isn't any change and that's what is leading her to call unfavorable?

39 weeks... I am hoping that i just misunderstood her and that maybe she meant there wasn't any change... or perhaps the swelling that PP mentioned.

I don't understand why you are being induced at only 39 weeks, is your baby ok? Sorry you are feeling frustrated and I hope your cervix starts to open!

If it were me I'd ask her a TON more questions before heading to the hospital.

My OB said sex can make you appear to be dialated when you are not. So people can go from one number to a lower number the week later. Maybe that applies to you maybe not. Regardless you are almost there. Best of luck.
