iPhone users - anyone have an issue with static?

This has recently started happening. When I try and make a call, all I hear is static. I usually have to hang up 3-4 times and keep trying, if that doesn't work I have to turn the phone off. Still sometimes it doesn't work. Wondering if anyone has gone through something similar.

Have not had this problem, but a quick Google search shows many have recently started hearing static.  Apple has not responded yet.
