Babies on the Brain

Good idea or bad idea?

Our baby is due Feb 6th. MIL wants to come visit from Feb 14th through 22nd or so. I was thinking that if I'm feeling up to it, it might be nice to do something for Valentine's day because she offered to watch the baby. Logically though I don't think i'll be ready to go out and may not even be healthy enough yet. She'd stay with us since we have a spare bedroom.

WDYT?

Re: Good idea or bad idea?

  • I wouldn't want to go out that soon. ?But then again, I've never given birth so I don't know for sure ;)

Princess, do you always plan nights out like five months in advance? ?;)?

  • Loading the player...
  • I went to the pro-bowl when dd was 7 days old.  Dr. was SURE that she'd be early... so we thought she'd be older... she eneded up being 5 days past due date and we decided to break my parents in... it had been 4 years since they had a newborn around.  I felt great, but by the end of the game my boobs were explosive.

  • Do it! Get the hell out of there while you can!
  • Who knows how early/late you'll deliver.

I know that 1 wk pp, I was NOT ready to go & hang out at a restaurant....I was leaky & sore (I couldn't sit comfortably in a chair for longer than about 30 mins at a time). Nothing really fit me (esp with the exploding boobage). And I was still learning my baby...

Keep in mind that I did have a C/s. I stopped taking any sort of pain meds 5 days pp (2 days after I got home). And I had a house full of visitors for the first almost 2 weeks.

High-risk L&D nurse...If in doubt, go to triage!

  • I'm just thinking that even if I feel like doing nothing on V-day which will probably be the case, at least she'd be here to help out and maybe let us get a little sleep. On the other hand, I may just want to kill her by the end of a week here. :P

  • I say no.

DH just let his whole family invite themselves over and MIL is somehow spending the night tmrw and next weekend without my prior consent......protect yourself lol.

Now if she will cook, clean, do laundry hell yea. But if shes going to be all over the baby no fing way if you are BFing it requires soooooooooooo much personal time.

  • I'd play it by ear. You can always make reservations at a restaurant and cancel them if the baby comes late and you don't feel like going out.
  • Depending on your relationship, the visit could be a good idea. Especially if your MIL is good helpful, not annoying helpful. Dinner can be played by ear. Remember you could still be pg at that point. I was induced 11 days late with DS.

  • I have to go to school on Tuesday and it is going to kill me. You can play it by ear but you just dont know if you have a c section (hope you dont) then you prob wont want to imo.
