Cloth Diapering

probably a newb question

Forgive me for a newbie question.  I think I've read somewhere that stinks can stay in synthetic fibers longer.  As in my microfiber pockets.  I switched from one microterry and one hemp insert to just 2 hemp inserts and I do think the ammonia scent is less.  But, I wondered about the microfiber liner.  Also, what about the liners I've made from an old fleece blanket?

  • Yes, ammonia is worse in synthetic fabrics. However, I wouldn't think your liners would have an issue because they aren't thick.

  • Fleece is ok, it won't stink, really. Synthetics do hold the funk, but you can add a bit of bleach every month or two and it resolves it.
