Positive quotes for during labor

I know a long time ago someone posted positive quotes to think about during labor.  Did anyone save it or have any they want to share?

Re: Positive quotes for during labor

  • I don't have a quote, but during the hardest parts of my labor, I had John describe our wedding day. We had practiced this prior to labor.

Yes!  I also focused on "Every contraction brings me closer to meeting my baby" and also "my body was meant to/made to do this"

  • Not so much a quote, but I kept reminding myself that contractions only last a minute or so (well, most of them) and then you get a break, and that I could endure anything for a minute.

And I prepared myself and everyone around me to remind me that when I said I just couldn't take it anymore, that meant that I was almost done.

The Mervyn's lady comes to mind as well. You know, chanting to my cervix to "open, open, open."
