So, how exactly does one combo feed? Do you just alternate bottles between feedings? Or just nurse at home and give formula at daycare?

For me, I am basically alternating bottles and BFing. I BF at 7,10, bottle at 1, BF at 4 and bottle before bed.

Thanks!! I also like the idea of topping off BM bottles with formula. Trying to get this pumping thing down before I go back to work at the start of January.

You know I never had much success pumping- only got 1-2 oz max.  I pretty much focused on sending 1 bottle of BM to school each day and the rest were either formula or a mix of BM and formula.  I just starred the BM ones so they gave those first.  As time went on and I quit pumping all together and ran out of freezer stash- it was super easy to transition to just bottles of formula and nursing.  Neither of my kids showed any preferance between bottles of formula or bottles of BM.  But when we were home, they definitely preferred nursing so I really did feel like it was the best of both worlds.
