2nd Trimester

Cramps during second trimester??

Hey ladies.  I am now 19 weeks pregnant with twins.  A few weeks back, I was worried when I started having what felt like light menstral cramps.  Naturally I called my doctor, and she told me that with twins I would be more uncomfortable with twins but that it was normal.  She also told me that if bleeding starts to come in.  Well, they stopped and everything was fine on our next appointment.  This past Wednesday evening (18w/3d pregnant) I was having the same pain, but no bleeding again so I chalked it up to my uterus growing .  2 days later (Friday evening), I have more menstral-like cramps that lasted about 2 hours.  Once I laid down and put my feet up, they started getting lighter and finally subsided.  Have any of you felt this with twins?

  • I am not pregnant with twins, but when I was about 20 weeks I had a similar thing happen. I kept feeling like my period was going to start off and on for about 3 1/2 days, and I was experiencing some light pressure down there. I ended up going in to see my OB and they said it was most likely Braxton Hicks. So, I started drinking much more water, and I have taken things a bit slower. Before, I was hopping around like I wasn't pregnant. Anyways, I haven't had any more cramps. I would just up your water intake, and do things a bit slower. :-)
  • I'm not carrying twins either, but I've been having cramps, pressure and BHs since 12 weeks.  From what I've learned it's normal and as long as rest and hydration make them subside, it's alright.  Of course keep in contact with the doc, but mine told me that it's just a lot of stretching.  This is my second and she said it can be worse w/ #2 (which counters what I thought, I thought I was already stretched out).  GL!
