sleepover vent

Alissa is having a friend over for a sleepover tonight, which is usually fine, but this time the mom sent the kid with no clothes and a horrible cough. I called the mom to ask if I could give her some cough medicine and she said it was fine. But seriously, all I am listening to is her cough in there. Who sends their kid to a friend's house without clothes and a bad cough?!?

Re: sleepover vent

  • A crappy ass mom that didn't want to listen to her DD cough all night.

Is it possible she is allergic to something in the house? or did she have the cough all along?

  • She's had the cough all along. The mom said that she had a cold early this week and she thinks it is just drainage.

  • To be fair, my DD has asthma and even the slightest cold ends up in a horrible cough that can last for weeks. But if she was hacking up a lung, I'd keep her home (even if she was otherwise healthy and not contagious). And no clothes? Weird.
  • The no clothes thing is weird, but DS has had a cough for a couple weeks and I wouldn't keep him home because of it. He's not sick, he really does just have drainage. Although, I would have warned you first and sent him with cough medicine and/or cough drops.

  • Weird on the no clothes.   Even DD's BFF who has a single dad sent her PJs...no clean clothes but she lives two houses down and was told to run home in her PJs.

I wouldn't send DD with a cough but sometimes those coughs don't show up until night time...
