For the past several years, I've done a flat 5x7 card (printed on cardstock) with a very simple greeting and one picture pasted on the card (printed and then pasted, not embedded and printed along with the card). I usually look on Etsy and find a card that I like, then print on cardstock at DH's office 2 to a page and cut to size at Kinko's. Donna has made ours before too when I had something specific in mind and she made exactly what I was looking for.
As for ones we received, I really like the Minted ones. Very high quality and great printing of the photo. Zullily had a deal for them last week. $30 for $64 worth of cards.
Two years ago I got the same Shutterfly card from three different families, and I swore I would stop using Shutterfly.
I ordered cards from Creative Memories last year and will do it again this year (and no, not just because I work for the company- I'm actually really picky about the quality of photo cards and I was happy with their quality- you just have to be willing to pay for it). I like flat, cardstock-type cards. The ones I got were 5x7 folded, but there were other sizes. Not sure what size I'll do this year, now that we have baby pictures to use.
We will probably order them from Costco. it is such a great deal. However it kind of depends on when this baby shows up. If I go past my due date I'm not sure what we'll do.
Where are you ordering your Xmas photo cards from this year? Last year I used Sams Club, I will probably use them again this year.
Flat card (like stationery/cardstock) or photo card? Photo card, combo birth announcement & holiday card. Basically whatever will be easiest to put together

we use tiny prints or minted for cards. we don't exchange presents with family so it's a splurge we do. they always have something beautiful and unique

We haven't ordered any yet. DH seems to think we should just do the whole e-card thing this year. I convinved him that we really need to send cards, so naturally, the task falls to me.
I am thinking about Costco, but I have also heard that FedEx Office makes high quality Christmas cards. Does anyone know anything about FedEx?
I have done a photo card from Tiny Prints for several years in a row but last year I was really not satisfied with the quality of the color photos so I will not be doing that again. The cards are beautiful -- design, color, paper quality, etc. -- and when printed with a b&W photo they are great. But color, not so much.
I like the options from shutterfly and snapfish and have been pleased with the quality of paper from both recently so I will investigate both this year.

Before baby, I would do a simple card - layer on the paper, use photo corners, stamp a greeting inside, sign it, done.
The year he was born we sent out birth announcements instead (he's jan 11)
last year I had boxes of cards I was trying to get rid of, so we sent those out and I slid the card inside.
Not sure this year. I guess I should figure out how many cards we're sending out...
