hubby feeling the baby?

So I'm nearly 25 weeks and I thought by now my hubby would have been able to feel the baby.  I get good strong kicks that I can feel with my hand at least once a day, but when I tell him to put his hand on my belly, baby always stops!  Anyone else having this happen?  I'm starting to think we just have a stubborn little guy on our hands!

Re: hubby feeling the baby?

  • The exact same thing happens to me!!!  Every single time I try to get my hubby to feel him, he stops.  Then when he takes his hand away, baby starts again.  Too funny!

  • When this happens I just jiggle or tap on my stomach and get the little guy moving again.  Make no noise and have him slowly place his hand on your stomach.  My husband has only been able to feel the baby while we're in bed and sometimes he's even fallen asleep waiting to feel a kick.
  • How long is YH trying to feel LO for?  I usually have DH keep his hand on my belly for a few minutes when LO is active and most times he will feel a kick.

  • I haven't had this problem-except for with my MIL, who I LOVE! So it makes me feel bad!

  • It's way too early for me this time but with ds my husband didn't feel him move for along time and my best friend never did it was like ds knew someone else hand was there and would just stop moving. It made them mad but I thought it was so funny

  • its normal, i started to feel our baby kick arund 11 weeks it wasnt hard yet but my hubby kept telling me i was crazy then at 12 weeks we got to see my stomach move, he is very involved and always trying to feel the lil one, this is my second child so i think thats why we felt/seen it move so early, but my due date could be off had surgrey 2 weeks before i supposly got preggo, good luck and congrats
  • Same here, baby seems to have 'daddy shyness' My husband has felt the baby kick just once or twice in the past few weeks. As soon as his hand gets near my belly, baby stops moving!

  • Our baby is doing the same thing! She kicks like crazy when her daddy sings to her, but as soon as he puts his hand on my belly she stops! LOL She is very camera shy during ultrasounds too. Good luck!

  • Heehee! Babies are so funny about this.  DH was able to feel LO last night for the first time, but with my DSs it was the same way.

  • We have this issue, too.  The funny thing is, hubby has seen baby move more than he's felt her.  I think that patience is key, and also I've noticed that she moves less if there's pressure on my belly, and usually hubby presses more on my tummy than I do.  Maybe his arm is just heavier, haha.
I'm just excited that my mom got to feel her.  She's weird about touching, so she's never felt someone else's baby move.  It was just lucky timing, I guess.
  • When I started to feel the baby stronger I had DH put his hand to my belly. He said it just felt like I had gas! I was so irritated because I had been waiting forever for him to be able to feel her. I have an anterior placenta, so it makes the movements feel weak. Then this morning, I felt her moving around a lot, so I grabbed DH's hand and had him wait. The first one he felt he still said it didn't feel like anything. As if to respond to that, our baby girl gave him a nice hard kick in the palm. He believes me now! lol
  • Same thing happens to me. I feel really bad about it when it happens.

DH is just waaaay too slow when I tell him to come over and feel the kicks.
